There are a lot of misconceptions and theories about AC power on boats, particularly as it relates to stray current in the water and “electrolysis.” This session helps to clear up the confusion and dispel common electrical myths.
After working at Pacific Mariner in La Conner as a marine electrician, Jim started Rovang Marine in 2006. He specialized in upgrades and repairs to yacht electrical systems. During that time, he gathered experience on all types of boats and yachts. Jim is currently working as a broker for Nordic Yachts Northwest, but still enjoys sharing all he has learned about yacht electrical systems over a 10+ year career as a full time marine electrician.
